Don’t have time?
If I got a dollar for every time someone said to me, “I don’t have time”, I would be a millionaire several times over. The crazy thing is, I would have had to contribute to that pool of money too.
The question that I would ask you is “How much of a priority is your health”? Where does it fit within your value composition? Does it even factor as important to you or is it just something that you think you ‘must’ do?
Too often, making time to eat right and move your body is a nice to have and is not made a priority. For some people there is always something more important to do on the to-do-list. For example, Work, the kids, the wife or husband, socialising and the list goes on.
Time is subjective. Do you make time to scroll through facebook or Instagram? Do you make time for your favourite TV programmes? What about that glass of wine or beer?
Let me challenge you to find 15 minutes in a day. Here is a list of things you could do with that time:
- Sit quietly and write in your journal
- Go for a walk or run
- Engage deeply with your kids
- Prepare snacks for the next day
- Do a youtube workout
If you like running do this seven-minute run.
Get out of bed, shoes on and run away from your house as fast as you can for seven minutes. Then turn around and get home in eight minutes. You’ve got an extra minute up your sleeve on the way back, but if you went hard on the way out, trust me, YOU’LL NEED IT!
Remember to wear your watch – and when it all gets a bit easy, pick a route with some hills.
